ORDx+Rx co-founder, Dr. Alexander Hannenberg, recently co-authored Redeployment of Health Care Workers in the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study of Health System Leaders’ Strategies, published in Volume 17 of the Journal of Patient Safety. The research team sought to understand best practices for healthcare staff redeployment learned during the pandemic and applicable to other events challenging the workforce. The study concluded that “Redeployment strategies should critically consider the process of redeploying and supporting the health care workforce, decentralized leadership that encourages and supports local implementation of system-wide plans, and communication that is transparent, regular, consistent, and informed by data.”
