Dr. Boudreaux is Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, UAB Health Services Foundation. He is an anesthesiologist and physician executive with expertise in anesthesiology and perioperative services, patient safety, medical staff affairs, peer review, quality management, regulatory affairs, postgraduate educational programs, and operational aspects of large medical centers. He continues to practice clinically in the area of perioperative medicine.

Serving as system Chief of Staff for UAB Medicine until 2014, Dr. Boudreaux was responsible for medical staff affairs, credentialing, peer review, professional practice review, medical staff engagement, and regulatory affairs. He held many leadership positions within the institution and chaired essential institutional committees including the medical executive, peer review, patient safety, health information management, utilization review and ethics committees. He worked to improve physician engagement with institutional strategic initiatives and goals, and spearheaded the development of an institutional clinical ethics consultation service.

While at UAB, Dr. Boudreaux implemented a departmental quality and patient safety initiative that helped to change the culture of care at UAB Medicine, and which served as a model for quality initiatives in all clinical departments. Dr. Boudreaux resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Glenda. They have two children and four grandchildren.
